Building instructions Lego Spike Prime

As you know, educational robotics expands at a fast pace. It is moving from the direction of additional education to a new level, and is being a part of the main curricula. The secret of such success is simple – an integrated approach to the study of mathematics, physics, programming and other sciences (so called STEM system). On the other hand there is a lot of practice and practice again! And most important thing, robotics arouses a sincere interest in classes in children.

In turn, classes in robotics are built around the study of models of robots, designed on a particular material base. Historically, one of the most popular platforms for learning robotics is Lego Education. Previously they are presented in two main series – Lego Wedo (firstly 1.0, and then 2.0) and Lego Mindstorms EV3 (earlier RCX and NXT). At the moment, there are new products as like Spike Essential and Spike Prime.

Check our reviews of these kits: Spike Essential and Spike Prime.

The developers of these kits (Team of Lego Education) have prepared teaching materials (for example units “Invention Squad”, “Kickstart a Business” and so on) that allow you to organize the educational process approximately from several months to half year.

However, the moment comes when the materials end, and there is still a long learning period ahead. We also passed this turning point and spent many of time developing author’s teaching materials for kit Lego Spike Prime.

To save your time and help to prepare an interesting curriculum in robotics, you can find on our website models of robots from the Lego Spike Prime kit, as well as step-by-step instructions for them.

Short list of our building instructions Lego Spike Prime

Spot Lego Spike Prime

The Spot (Robodog) is built from the Lego Spike Prime educational kit. Thanks to the parallel operation of the motors, forward and backward movement is realized. According to the principle of operation, the robot is walking. When the robot dog face an object of a certain color, the color sensor is triggered and the robot steps back.

Line Follower Lego Spike Prime

The Line Follower is built from the Lego Spike Prime educational kit. The color sensor, located in the front and directed downward, registers white or black color and sends a control action to the motor – turn left or right.

Tractor Lego Spike Prime

The Tractor is built from the Lego Spike Prime educational kit. Thanks to the operation of the motors, the tractor can move forward and backward.

Helicopter Lego Spike Prime

The Helicopter is built from the Lego Spike Prime educational kit. The helicopter has two motors – one is responsible for rotating the main rotor, the second is responsible for the tail rotor. The motors are activated when a certain angle of inclination (pitch) is reached.

Dancer Lego Spike Prime

The Dancer is built from the Lego Spike Prime educational kit. Due to the operation of the motors, the robot moves as if dancing. Also use the built-in melodies when the robot is working.
